ByGuides WriterTowards the end of Resident Evil 2, either Leon or Claire is going to have to obtain a special herbicide to make it through the greenhouse section of the laboratory. In this complete Resident Evil 2 greenhouse walkthrough, we'll be detailing everything you need to know to ge through this portion of the game as quickly as possible, including the Resident Evil 2 greenhouse terminal codes, how to make the herbicide in Resident Evil 2, and more. But if you instead need help with any other areas of Capcom’s brand new remake, you’ll want to head over to our.
Here you can find our full beginner’s guide to the game, as well as index pages on weapons, puzzle solutions, and much more. This guide for the greenhouse section of Resident Evil 2 is a long one, and it'll be covering how to create the herbicide solution, the correct terminal codes, and more.Resident Evil 2 Greenhouse GuideAs we mentioned at the top, both Leon and Claire will eventually come to the greenhouse area in Resident Evil 2, so this guide applies for both protagonists. If you’re playing as Leon, you’re going to want to bring the flamethrower with you for this section, but if you’re playing as Claire, make sure to bring some flame round for your to the greenhouse. Greenhouse B1 Item LocationsBefore we go any further, you can see a map image for the first floor of the greenhouse below. We've labelled all the items on the map, and denoted gunpowder/ammo by a black circle, and healing items like herbs and first aid sprays with a green circle. Green = healing items, black = gunpowder/ammo. Hirun Cryer/USG, Capcom Greenhouse B2 Item LocationsThe same is very much the case with the B2 map just below, which we've applied the same color co-ordination to. Green = healing items, black = gunpowder/ammo.
Hirun Cryer/USG, CapcomFirstly, you’ll arrive into the greenhouse area in Resident Evil 2 after upgrading your security wristband to the second level. Starting out from the area with the deceased greenhouse worker in the window ahead of Leon/Claire, turn left, and head through the door in the corner of the room. You'll want the grenade launcher for this section. Hirun Cryer/USG, CapcomFollow this overrun corridor around the corner to the right, and you’ll come into contact with your first plant-looking humanoid enemy. This is why we told you to bring a fire-based weapon for the greenhouse section, because nothing gets rid of wood and plants quicker than fire.
Greenhouse Control Terminal CodesDeal with this new enemy type (let’s call them vines, shall we?), and proceed through the door at the end of the corridor, on your right. In this next room, you’ll have access to the greenhouse control terminal on your right, just below the bank of monitors on the wall. You now need to input the correct symbols into the terminal, which we’ve displayed in the two images just below: The correct terminal code. Hirun Cryer The second correct terminal code. Hirun Cryer/USG, CapcomNow turn to your left after you’ve finished inputting the code, and you’ll find a dispenser in front of the window. Activate this machine, and it’ll give you the ‘dispersal cartridge’ item, which you’re going to need.
Lab Codes Greenhouse: Resident Evil 2 Remake (RE2R) As you progress through the Resident Evil 2 Remake (RE2R), you’ll have to visit to the Greenhouse lab to get a Chip to upgrade your ID wristband but this facility is secured with codes. Here, we'll find the appropriate codes to gain access to the research lab and the underground facilities. The Lab Code Puzzle of Resident Evil 2 Remake takes place in the Greenhouse Control Room and Drug Testing Lab. This guide will show you the solution for the Laboratory Terminal Code / Keypad and how to synthesize the Herbicide using the Dispersal Cartridge. This Puzzle consists of two Parts. First, you need to enter two Codes.
The location of the greenhouse terminal. Hirun CryerTurn to your left again, and head out of the door.
You’ll now be in the central area of the greenhouse, and here you find more vine enemies. Turn to your left once you’re through the door, and go down the stairs. Take the pathway ahead of you leading off at the bottom of the stairs, and you’ll find yourself in the drug testing lab room. How to Create the Herbicide SolutionInteract with the note on the desk in the middle of the room, and you’ll see that Claire/Leon needs to create the herbicide solution. Because you used the terminal codes earlier in the greenhouse level, the drugs machine to your left is already unlocked and available for use.Go up to the drug machine, and interact with it, inserting the dispersal cartridge into the machine.
You’ll now be given control of three buttons and three test tubes, and you need to get the correct amount of solution into the cartridge on the left, in the image below. In fact, using the three buttons to switch the test tubes around redistribute the liquid, you need to end up with the same amount of solution in the test tube on the left in the image below. The correct measures for the herbicide solution. Hirun Cryer/USG, CapcomOnce you’ve successfully done this, the machine will work its magic, and you’ll be granted the ‘dispersal cartridge (solution) item. You now need to back out of the drug testing lab room, and into the main greenhouse area, but turn left at the end of the pathway that you use to enter the area, and there’ll be a vine enemy ahead of you.Get rid of this enemy as quickly as possible by using a fire-based attack, and then drop down the hatch on the left of the pathway.
You’ll now be on the ‘B2’ floor of the greenhouse, and this is a tough section. Firstly head left from where you drop down the ladder, and you’ll find some gunpowder and a map of the area. Now backtrack to the ladder and go straight past it down the corridor, and you’ll reach a door on your right. Go through this door, turn right, head down the corridor, and you’ll come to an open area on your left, where there are four secretly-live zombies lying in wait on the floor. A flamethrower will come in handy here. Hirun Cryer/USG, CapcomWe’d recommend using a grenade if possible for this bit, as if you can land the grenade just in front of the vending machine, it’ll kill all the zombies in this room in one swift blow. Head round the corner to the right, and get ready for one hell of a fight, because two are about to come at you in full force.Deal with the Lickers by whatever means necessary. You can take them out quickly if you’ve got a few grenade launcher or magnum rounds to spare, but if you can run straight past them and into the door at the end of the corridor, they won’t follow you further.
Either way, once you’re through this doorway, head to the end of the corridor, and take the door on the left.Get rid of the zombie that’s immediately on the stairwell, and then head upwards, dodging or killing the zombie that falls down from the level above. Either way, head through the door immediately ahead of you once you’ve reached the top of the stairwell, and you’ll have to take out a zombie that’s hiding behind the boxes in front of you.Now turn to your left, and you should be able to see an electronic device in the wall. Interact with it, and pick it out of the wall.
You’ve now obtained the ‘signal modulator’. Unlock the latch on the door at the north end of the room, but after this, you’re going to want to head back down the stairwell, to the area where the Lickers jumped you. How to Use the Signal ModulatorIn front of you, at the end of the room, you should be able to see a small glowing red light. Walk up to it, and you’ll see that the letters ‘MURF’ are written on the electrical junction.
Examine the signal modulator in your inventory, and you’ll see that you need to set the wavelength using two knobs to match the two yellow lines on the display area. The 'MURF' letters are what you need to take note of. Hirun Cryer/USG, CapcomTab over to MURF using the shoulder buttons on your controller, and set the correct wavelength. Now interact with the electrical junction on the wall, and insert the signal modulator.
With the power back on, turn around, and head down the corridor where the Lickers spawned.Take the door that’s now available to be opened on your left, and you’ll enter a new room. You need to now make it into the central area, where there’s frost everywhere (Claire and Leon have some good quips here), and you can interact with the central machine.Use the dispersal cartridge (solution) with this machine, and it’ll successfully synthesize the herbicide for Claire/Leon to use. With this now done, you need to head all the way back to the area where you first received the dispersal cartridge when it was empty.
Resident Evil 2 Remake Lab Puzzle
Finally, you can create the herbicide. Hirun Cryer/USG, Capcom How to Use the Herbicide SolutionInteract with the machine in front of the window, and you can place the herbicide within it. This will now spray herbicide all over the greenhouse, and although it won’t outright kill the vegified monsters, it will drop the body of the worker down from the window, letting you go into the main greenhouse area, and retrieve the next level of security clearance for your wristband.Be warned though, as soon as you’ve done this, the Tyrant Mr. X will appear! Claire/Leon now need to get the hell out of dodge as quickly as possible, which means running back through the entrance to the greenhouse area, and all the way to the main elevator area.If it's more content for Capcom's remake that you're after, head over to our page.
